Pioneer Sand Becomes Pioneer Landscape Centers

Pioneer Landscape Centers – formerly Pioneer Sand – operates 23 quarries, two production plants and 30 retail locations across Arizona and Colorado. The company now plans to open the ultimate retail outlet for contractors, DIY enthusiasts and landscapers in Littleton, Colo.

Griesemer Addresses Congressional Small Business Committee

Louis Griesemer, from Missouri-based Springfield Underground, called on the House Small Business Committee to take action on burdensome and conflicting regulations that cause project delays and harm small operations.

NSSGA to Recognize Grassroots Leadership at Fall Meeting

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) will recognize outstanding industry advocates at the association’s upcoming Legislative and Policy Forum/Fall Board meeting, Sept. 24-28. The 2017 NSSGA Grassroots Awards will be presented to individuals for educating policymakers on the value of the aggregates industry and explaining how certain policies can benefit or harm operations around the country.

Zatezalo Nominated to Head MSHA

David Zatezalo, a former coal mining executive from West Virginia, will be President Trump’s nominee for assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health. In that role, he will head up the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
