BlastMetriX UAV Improves Blast Design and Analysis

The new BlastMetriX UAV program from 3GSM GmbH allows quarries and mining operations to take advantage of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology to quickly, safely an accurately capture three-dimensional face profiles for enhanced visualization of the blast area. The flexible system is the right tool for surveying large blast sites and does not require the use of propriety UAVs. This allows operations to use existing drones in their fleet or locally source drone equipment to take surveying images.

Cat Electric Drive Loader Increases Truck Loading By Up to 49 Percent

Caterpillar rolled out its new 988K XE loader at a special media event in Peoria, Ill. The new loader was also previewed at Tower Rock Stone in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., at an event attended by Rock Products Editor Mark Kuhar. The electric drive loader delivers 25 percent greater overall efficiency and up to 10 percent more productivity in load-and-carry applications than the 988K loader.

The Use of Drones Has Exploded
